Recanati, 24 March 2017 -  iGuzzini has participated in the works for the rebirth of Duomo di Carpi – also known as “Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta” – with a lighting project that enhances the value of the artworks, guaranteeing their perfect preservation, and provides the ideal conditions for a perfect liturgical experience.
The wise lighting direction reveals the architecture of the cathedral and the beauty of its artworks. The LED technology guarantees high energy saving and minimizes the amount of heat on the frescoes. Moreover, the light management system, which can be remotely controlled, adjusts the luminous intensity of the lighting fixtures, and plays different lighting scenes according to the liturgical moments or any other requirements.
iGuzzini has installed about 400 Front Light spotlights on the cornices of the church, using a telescopic bracket in order to adjust to the different depth.  The fixtures provide both direct and indirect light. In particular, direct light is delivered by the spotlights with adjustable rod, while the fixtures installed in backward position on the tracks provide indirect light and accent light, enhancing the features of the paintings with narrow beam angles.

“We are proud to have contributed to the rebirth of such an important symbol of the city and of the entire community. The Cathedral is an artistic heritage that needs to be preserved, a point of reference for the faithful and for all citizens. Recently , also our land and our people have been struck by a terrible earthquake. We hope that this joyful moment of rebirth will give us the strength not to forget the many places that still need our help”, said  Adolfo Guzzini, President of iGuzzini.

“Huge reconstruction works have been necessary, but today we are extremely happy to return such an important historical and religious place, not only to our local community, but also to the entire country”, Monsignor Francesco Cavina, Bishop of Carpi, added.
