Laurea honoris causa to Giannunzio Guzzini

During a formal ceremony which took place on the 15th November in the “Sala della Muta” of the Palazzo Ducale (Ducal Palace), the Rector of the University, Prof. Fulvio Esposito, awarded Giannunzio Guzzini, Chairman and Managing Director of “iGuzzini Illuminazione”, with the laurea honoris causa (honorary degree) in Chemistry.

“The University of Camerino,” stresses Prof. Roberto Ballini, Director of the Chemistry Course at Unicam, "wishes to award this significant mark of recognition to this industrial personality from Recanati, as he has always believed that collaboration between the Chemistry sector and the Engineering sector is vital for the development of the procedures implemented by the company. He has also been one of the main authors of economic and technical growth in the Marche region.”

The son of a small entrepreneur from Recanati working on the transformation of plastic materials, Giannunzio Guzzini entered the family business at a very young age. He immediately began contributing to its transformation from a small manufacturer into one of the most advanced companies in the sector relating to polymeric materials and their implementation in the manufacturing of quality items in the furniture industry. The predisposition to research and innovation has always been a qualifying factor for "iGuzzini Illuminazione", which operates in partnership with various Research Centres and which has been working with the University of Camerino for some time.

The words expressed by Giannunzio Guzzini as a response to this recognition are touching:

“This prestigious award fills me with pride and I would like to take this opportunity to convey to the younger generation the belief which guided me in my work: everything is possible, the important thing is to love your work and never give up. With a little insight, a little luck and a little intelligence you can achieve excellent results.
