“I Monili” (“the Jewels”) of Marinella De Paoli on display

Jewels from African soil give Africa a helping hand

Between the 16th and the 18th November 2006, the iGuzzini space in via San Domenico 3, Milan, hosted the unusual exhibition from Marinella De Paoli, dedicated to the collection of unique jewels originating from the Horn of Africa: “I MONILI”.

After visiting Rome, Modena, Pesaro and Nairobi the “I MONILI” exhibition landed in Milan at iGuzzini, which contributed to the exhibition through a specially-created lighting scheme, making these unique treasures, which are on sale in aid of charity, sparkle even more.

Part of the proceeds from every sale were donated to the “Amref Italy” project for street children, of which Marinella De Paoli is a founding partner and committee member. Amref is the largest African organisation and, since 1957, has been managing hundreds of projects in 14 East African countries. It actively involves men and women from African communities so that they can guide the development of each project themselves.
