Massimiliano Fuksas
Native of Lituania, Massimiliano Fuksas was born in Rome in 1944, where he graduated in Architecture at La Sapienza University in 1969. Massimiliano Fuksas
In 1967, 1989 and 1993 he established practices in Rome, Paris and Vienna respectively and he recently opened a new studio in Frankfurt. In 1998 he received an award in recognition of his professional career at “Vitruvio International a la Trayectoria” in Buenos Aires.
From 1998 to 2000 he was Director of the VII Biennale Internazionale di Architettura di Venezia “Less Aesthetics, More Ethics”.
2003 awarded Accademic of the International Academy of Architecture in Sofia.
2002 Honorary Fellowship of the American Institute of Architects.
2000 awarded Accademico Nazionale di San Luca, Italy and Commandeur de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres de la République Française.
1999 awared with the Grand Prix d’Architecture Française; the year after he was appointed as “National Academic of San Luca and Commandeur de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres de la République Française”.
Commencing in January 2000, assumed responsibility for the architectural page of the weekly magazine “L’Espresso” founded by Bruno Zevi. He was Visiting Professor at a number of universities, such as Stuttgard, Paris, Vienna and New York. For many years he has been devoting special attention to the study of the urban problems in large metropolitan areas.
Presently lives and works in Rome, Paris and Frankfurt.

Among his latest projects we recall: urban block with shopping, housing and offices in Mainz, the concert halls in Strasbourg and Amiens, the shopping Centre Piazza, the 18th September square and the Mediamarkt in Eindhoven (The Netherlands) the new Trade Fair Centre in Milan, the Italia Congress Centre in Rome-Eur, the Zeil mall in Frankfurt, the new head office of Ferrari SpA in Maranello, the new headquarters for Nardini in Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza, Italy), the new concept for Emporio Armani in Honk Kong, the skyscraper for the new head office of Piedmont’s Region in Turin, the Aquadeus water park, the shopping centre and the enlargement of the Europark in Salzburg, the Twin Tower in Vienna, the Italian Space Agency (ASI) in Rome, the Peres centre for Peace in Jaffa in Israel, the Hanse-Forum office building and the Asterfleet housing and office complex in Hamburg, the Ilôt Cantagrel in Paris, the Centre for Education and Research Maximilien Perret de Vincennes in Alfortville, Paris, the University of Centre Ville in Brest, the Maison des Arts in the University of Bordeaux, the urban plan of the Place des Nations in Ginevra, the urban renovation of the blocks near the Seine at Clichy in Paris, the urban plan of Tremblay en France on an area of 1.000 hectars, the International Trade Centre in Pudong, Shangai, on an area of 4.000.000 sqm, the Musee des graffiti in Niaux.
Doriana Fuksas
Doriana O. Mandrelli Fuksas is born in Rome where she graduated in History of Art and History of Modern and Contemporary Architecture at La Sapienza University in 1979.
At the VII International Show of Architecture at the Biennale in Venice (June – October 2000) she was in charge of the four special sections dedicated to Jean Prouvé, Jean Maneval, the Peace Pavillon and Alenia Spazio and of the Expo on-line.
Since 1985 she has been cooperating with Massimiliano Fuksas.
Since 1997 she has been responsible of the Fuksas design section.
She lives and works in Rome and Paris.
In 2002 she was conferred Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres de la Repubblique Française.
