If you want to reduce the amount of electricity you use, switching off the light is the most expensive solution.
Fumbling about in the dark is not exactly the most economical solution for reducing energy consumption. When there is not much light, quality of life and productive efficiency are reduced.
In order to use electricity logically and profitably (also limiting CO2 pollution) we need to offer improved lighting, not decrease the amount of light available. This is why iGuzzini has devised a series of fixtures using highly energy efficient sources and high-performance optics which can be connected to general electrical system control devices using a computer. This means it is now possible to use energy in a more intelligent manner.
To give an example which is close to home, the mayor of Recanati recently declared that 40% had been saved on energy costs thanks to a new public lighting scheme created by a lighting designer on behalf of iGuzzini, sponsor of the project. However, the mayors of New York, Paris, London, Melbourne or Shanghai could say very similar things; these are the cities where iGuzzini are often asked to devise lighting schemes for buildings and public streets.
