Triennale Design Museum

Inauguration: 6th December 2007
Milan Triennale

Work on the Design Museum began in 2004, with the creation of the Design Library, the Archives and the Documentation Centre, followed by the restoration of the spaces intended for use as part of the Museum itself. This work was completed in 2007, when the Museum was opened to the public.

The architectural restoration project for the Palace and the arrangement and adaptation projects for the Museum were all devised by Michele De Lucchi, the creator of an innovative bridge entrance which means that the Museum can be part of the Triennale while remaining an autonomous entity with an evident function.

Our country – Lombardy in particular – excels in design; Triennale Design Museum is at the centre of the design network, representing an original and varied supply of talent which is often relatively unknown, such as corporate museums and public or private collections. The Museum therefore also represents an opportunity to bring this vast heritage into the network and make its contents visible. (text taken from www.triennale.it)

Le Perroquet projectors illuminate the "Salone d'Onore", a big space inside the new Museum. iGuzzini is, in fact, the lighting design sponsor of the Triennale Design Museum.
