The Imperial Gardens of Russia 2008

Russian Museum
Saint Petersburg

The first edition of the international festival “The Imperial Gardens of Russia” is an exhibition-contest of gardens recreated in the style of bygone centuries in the Russian Museum of Saint Petersburg.

The initiative that celebrates the 110th anniversary of the foundation of the Russian Museum, which houses the largest and most complete collection of Russian national artworks of the world took place from 30 May to 3 June 2008 under the patronage of Her Royal Highness, the Princess Michael of Kent and with the assistance of Valentina Matvienko, Governor of Saint Petersburg.

iGuzzini illuminated the Rossi Pavilion in the centre of the Mikhailovsky Garden, a reference point of the area around which the competing gardens were realised.

Linealuce wall washer fittings underscored the façade tympanums, while MiniWoody spotlights installed at the base of the columns exalted their white colour. This generated an elegant contrast with the coloured light produced by ColourWoody floodlights that filled the pavilion.
