Hermann Nitsch In Naples
Hermann Nitsch Museum-Archive-Laboratory for Modern Art - Naples
The Hermann Nitsch Museum-Archive-Laboratory for Modern Art in Naples was officially opened on the 13th September. The space will be used to document and expand upon the philosophical, poetic and visual themes developed by this great Austrian artist.Hermann Nitsch (Vienna, 1938) was one of the major players on the international art scene in the second half of the twentieth century. He was a true advocate (along with with Günther Brus, Rudolf Schwarzkogler and Otto Mühl) of the Wiener Aktionismus (Viennese Actionism) movement, which in the 1970s came to represent the ultimate in expressive tension as part of the European Body Art movement.
The museum is housed in the “Stazione Bellini”, a former electric power station in the centre of Naples which was restored by the Fondazione Morra; the lighting was provided by our company, in our capacity as technical sponsor of the venture.
Metro projectors – designed by Bruno Gecchelin – have been used to illuminate the entire exhibition area. These spotlights were chosen because of their highly technological design and the vast range of lighting solutions they offer.
