iLibriGuzzini
Light is not only used to read: it can also be read.ilibriGuzzini is a collection of books published under the supervision of the iGuzzini Study and Research Centre to investigate the various aspects of light, from physical nature to perception.
Light illuminates the world and shows it to us.
We can say that vision, and therefore light, determines the relation with the environment. And the relation with the environment is the first goal of lighting planning.
With this publishing activity the iGuzzini Study and Research Centre intends to contribute to the cultural debate on light, knowing that lighting planning plays a crucial role in working activities, culture, art and relationships between individuals.
The illumination of monuments and other cultural assets: towards a theory
Edited by Armando Ginesi
In a country such as Italy, extremely rich in Cultural Heritage, defining a theory for the lighting of such works is of vital importance.Edited by Armando Ginesi
The book, by Armando Ginesi, is developed by making a clear distinction between light as a work of art and light as “service writing”, in other words light used to allow for art works to be enjoyed.
The work therefore consists of a series of advice and examples, with some proposals as to the insertion of luminaires, selected according to their shape, in urban and non-urban contexts.
The last part of the book is devoted to the analysis of criteria for the reduction of the damage caused by luminous radiation on the different materials that could be found on display, and it is presented by the architect, Piergiovanni Ceregioli.
