SLTN Design Awards 2009

iGuzzini are proud to announce the sponsorship of the SLTN design award 2009. The competition is open to colleges and universities and students are invited to design a bar of the future which would operate in Scotland. For the purposes of the competition the overall bar should be a single room which could contain different levels, and may well feature different zones. Set measurement is 20m wide by 30m deep. The bar has frontage and access to the year and is bordered on three sides by other businesses as well as above. Seating for 50 people and a food offering should be considered.

Consideration and thought should be considered of the relationship between service areas and customer areas as well as construction materials, furniture, technology and of course the lighting.

It is a requirement that a lighting solution using iGuzzini product must be considered. This allows the students to explore the iGuzzini range and develop their knowledge within this area.

Judging is by a panel of the SLTN team, design professionals and iGuzzini. The first round of judging took place on the 19th March where the entrants were shortlisted to a quantity of ten finalists, interviews o these finalists will take place on the 1st April.

The winners will be announced on the first day of the Bar Scotland exhibition which takes place on the 28th and 29th April 2009, with the winner receiving £1500 cheque and a work placement, Runner up £750 cheque and a work placement with a highly commended award of £500 cheque and a work placement completing the prizes.
