Western Australia Architecture Awards 2016

Winners announced on Friday 1 July

Western Australia (WA) Architecture Awards 2016

The Australian Institute of Architects announced the winners of the 2016 Western Australia (WA) Architecture Awards on Friday 1 July. Held at Crown Perth’s Grand Ballroom, the Awards celebrated excellence in the design and construction industry, being one of the most popular architecture events of the year.

In a shining testament to the spectacular quality of architecture in Western Australia, judges of the state’s top industry awards bestowed not one, but two top accolades at the 2016 ceremony. Both the City of Perth Library and Public Plaza, and the State Buildings scooped the highest honour at the Australian Institute of Architects’ 2016 WA Architecture Awards.

In the category of Urban Design, The Buchan Group - Perth were awarded The John Septimus Roe Award for Urban Design, sponsored by iGuzzini, for their project the ‘Cloisters Redevelopment’.

A copy of the Winners Book detailing all the award categories and their winners and commendations is available here.
Winners of the Western Australia (WA) Architecture Awards will progress to the 2016 National Architecture Awards to be announced in November.
