Walky and The Blade win Design Plus

The Blade and Walky win Design Plus, a German competition promoted by the German Design Council, an authoritative international body for the promotion of design. The award-winning products will be exhibited in a dedicated area at the Light + Building fair held at Messe Frankfurt from 18th to 23rd March. The jury judged Laser Blade XS – The Blade – and the Walky family as "products demonstrating future viability, innovative design and energy-efficient technology". The selection was made based on the following criteria:
 

• Design: design quality, choice of materials, usability (universal design);
• Ecology: energy efficiency, sustainability (use of resources), durability;
• Technology: innovation, function, technical quality and integrative ability.

In complete harmony with iGuzzini’s strategic levers, Design Plus wants to demonstrate that technological innovation and design are synergistic elements. The double-award acknowledges the performance of two new products, one for indoor and the other for outdoor illumination, which will be showcased at Light+Building this year. Design Plus particularly rewards the Laser Blade XS - The Blade, an icon of miniaturisation and precision for interiors that – after having received several important awards such as the LDAwards and the LUX AWARDS (for "Best product for interior lighting in architecture") and having been included in the ADI Design INDEX – expands as a product family to include new suspended, ceiling-mounted and track-mounted applications in 2018. The Design Plus award precedes the debut of a large collection of miniaturized products, including Walky, the family of novelty products characterized by excellent horizontal light distribution, which will be officially launched during the fair. The two Design Plus award winners will be part of the photography exhibition to be showcased at Light + Building, on the Design Plus stand A51, Hall 1.2. Needless to add, the Blade and Walky will be featured on the iGuzzini stand E31, Hall 3.1, at Light + Building.
