iGuzzini Top Employers Italy for 2018

The company receives the coveted award for a second consecutive year.

The Top Employers Institute has named iGuzzini illuminazione as one of Italy’s leading employers for the second consecutive year. The Top Employers Institute globally certifies excellence in terms of working conditions offered by employers to their employees.

"We are delighted to have received the prestigious Top Employer award for a second consecutive year. Besides rewarding our commitment to the wellbeing of our employees, the award makes us desirable to young talent", affirmed Adolfo Guzzini, President of iGuzzini. "Nowadays, more than ever, it is vital to offer a positive outlook as a way to promote our talents and to generate interest in the culture of light as a means to improve people's lives", concluded Adolfo Guzzini.

The Top Employers Institute is the international certification body that selects, analyses and evaluates working conditions and HR practices. The results of an analysis conducted through measurable data and documentation, are validated by the Top Employers Institute and subsequently submitted for an external audit. The certification institute analyses more than 600 best practices characteristic to nine different areas of HR management: talent strategy, workforce planning, on-boarding, learning & development, performance management, leadership development, career & succession management, compensation & benefits, and culture.

“We are extremely satisfied with the certification received from the Top Employer Institute and we strongly believe that we are heading in the right direction in terms of offering outstanding working conditions to our employees, who are encouraged and supported to pursue continuous professional development within the company. The certification is a further incentive to keep ahead of the game and reach even higher quality standards able to encourage the participation of our employees to company life", commented Andrea Sasso, CEO of iGuzzini.

In 2014, iGuzzini introduced World Class Manufacturing (WCM), a substantial investments programme for technology and training, which has involved every single employee of the company.  The adoption of WCM led to the signing of a supplementary company contract stating that a portion of the employees’ compensation is determined on the basis of two factors: company economic performance and efficiency increases obtained through the implementation of the programme. At the same time as the introduction of WCM, a welfare programme was also set-up via a special fund for the purchase of goods and services adapted to the specific needs of employees and their families.

Besides the signing of a supplementary company contract, which envisages new remuneration policies and results-based bonuses, the adoption of WCM also led to flexibility in terms of working hours and the launch of a welfare programme through a special fund for goods and services adapted to the specific needs of employees and their families.

Internationally recognized since 1991, the Top Employers Institute is headquartered in the Netherlands, and has been operating in Italy since 2008.
