Result of a two-year international workshop series, the innovative publication is dedicated to lighting designers. It will be launched on 8th March, at the London School of Economics.

From London to London, across the world. The exciting two-year experience of the Social Lightscapes research programme has come to an end and the research team is thrilled to be releasing the long-awaited outcome, at the London School of Economics. The publication, the first 'practical guide' for lighting design based on social science methodologies, will be presented in the Shaw Library of the British university and will outline the main stages of the programme. Launched in 2015, through a collaboration between researchers from the London School of Economics, King's College of London and the Social Light Movement, in partnership with iGuzzini, the Social Lightscapes Workshops – a workshop series held in the suburbs of London, Muscat, Timişoara, Brisbane, Rome and Paris - is part of the larger Configuring Light / Staging the Social project which aims to develop innovative methods of sociological research in urban lighting design. Light, the social innovation tool used to requalify the urban space, is the common energy bringing together the various design practices involved. These workshops required site-specific lighting solutions and as such, the local communities were heavily involved in the design process.

iGuzzini were involved in the programme by sponsoring the research activity of architect and lighting designer Elettra Bordonaro, having provided all the lighting solutions used and offering technical / logistic support in the different phases of the project development. The partnership with Configuring Light enabled the Group to be recognised as 'Best Partner in the Industry' at PLDC 2017.
