From Saturday 23rd February, St Mark’s belltower in Venice will be lit by the
Blame The Moon / Tutta colpa della Luna installation, created by
Mario Arlati. The work - inspired by the central theme of the Venice Carnival - celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of the moon landing with the Milanese artist’s iconic flags, accompanied by references to the moon and Jules Verne’s adventure stories.
After
Art Light Flags, iGuzzini continues to collaborate with Arlati through the
Palco InOut Framer projectors that emit a very precise light beam free of chromatic aberration and ideal for architectural lighting. The Blame The Moon project is organised by the Piazza San Marco Association, in collaboration with the Contini Art Gallery in Venice, Vela Spa, the Municipality of Venice and iGuzzini, as part of the 2019 Venice Carnival. Our thanks also go to the Special Arts, Landscape and Archaeology Heritage Authorities for the Municipality of Venice and the Lagoon, the management of the Archaeological Museum, the management of the Correr Museum and the Procuratoria of St Mark.
The installation can be seen every night from 4:30pm to 1:00am, until Tuesday 5th March.
