ENLIGHTENme: the project turns on its light. iGuzzini in the Board of Lighting Companies.

The Board of Lighting Companies met recently in Bologna for the ENLIGHTENme annual meeting.

ENLIGHTENme brings together experts from different scientific fields and sectors, such as urban development and health research for four years to collect evidence about indoor and outdoor lighting impacts on human health and wellbeing – particularly for people over the age of 65 and other vulnerable groups. The project aims to research, develop and validate innovative solutions to support innovative urban lighting policies and guidance for better health in cities throughout Europe.

Applying a transdisciplinary approach, ENLIGHTENme examines the correlations between health, wellbeing, lighting and socio-economic factors, using a population-based medical trial and qualitative field work in three European cities: Bologna (Italy), Amsterdam (The Netherlands) and Tartu (Estonia).

ENLIGHTENme: the project turns on its light. iGuzzini in the Board of Lighting Companies.

As part of the conference, the lighting of the urban lighting tester system with variable light was organized, with the involvement of citizens who actively participated in this phase of the research and were shown the lighting design.

iGuzzini, represented by Laura Cinquarla, iGuzzini Product Communication Manager, is part of the Board of Lighting Companies, along with other companies and lighting designers, as support to the Health and Urban Lighting Advisory Board.

The ENLIGHTENme research project involves the collaboration of 22 international partners from 10 different countries and is funded under the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
