On Friday 11th March a lecture was held at iGuzzini illuminazione by Alberto Cavalli, executive co-director of the Michelangelo Foundation for creativity and craftsmanship and general curator of the event "Homo Faber: Leaving Treasures of Europe and Japan".
Alberto Cavalli gave a fascinating lecture presenting all that visitors will find at Fondazione Cini, in Venice, from 10 April to 1 May 2022. Here below the full conference in English.
The knowledge, promotion and valorization of artistic crafts are the main objective of the Michelangelo Foundation and in this edition curators such as Michele de Lucchi, Stefano Boeri, Jean Blancheart, Judith Clark, Naoto Fukusawa, Rinko Kawauchi, artists such as Robert Wilson, will tell the skill and love for materials, the love for the beauty of the objects of the master craftsmen of Europe and Japan. Masters so important that in 1950 Japan decided to support and protect with a specific law as the repositories of intangible but fundamental cultural values. iGuzzini illuminazione will also illuminate the second edition of Homo Faber, after having contributed, in 2018, to the success of the first that had more than 62,000 visitors.
