Young people film light and places with iGuzzini
The relationship between light and places has been the main topic of the 4
th
edition of the international video contest
“Riprenditi la città, riprenditi la luce”
(“reclaim the city, reclaim the light”). It ended on the 21
st
of May with an awards ceremony dedicated to the young winners, held at Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
After the success of the recent editions, AIDI, the Italian Lighting Association, launched a new video contest devoted to the value of light in everyday places. Youth, light, and city were, once again, the protagonists of this year’s edition; a short film was the medium to tell their story. The novelty this year was to include three new categories in the contest: under 18s, under 30s and young lighting designers under 35.
"Young people are the main users of public lighting," says Margherita Suss, President of AIDI. “It is fundamental for AIDI to understand how they perceive light, and how they relate to the city"
.
This year’s edition boasts an exceptional jury, sponsored by regional and national educational institutions - Margherita Suss;
Claudio Bini
, AIDI Adviser;
Marco Filibeck
, lighting designer at
Teatro alla Scala
;
Nicoletta Gozo
,
