Mario Cucinella Architects and the Luigi Rovati Foundation received the ADI 2024 Compasso d'Oro Award for the "Museo d'Arte Fondazione Luigi Rovati" project illuminated by iGuzzini with lighting direction by Piero Castiglioni.
The jury expressed its motivations as follows: "Museographic and museological set-up through design that takes its cue from the relationship with the tradition of sculpture, creating an emotionally involving environment and emphasising the relationship between the user and cultural heritage".
This prestigious award celebrates the project in its entirety: the reconstructed morphology of the spaces and environments, the digital infrastructure and the sustainable energy approach. The success is the result of synergetic work that has seen the collaboration of numerous skills, all expertly coordinated by the Foundation.
The award ceremony was held in Milan at the ADI Design Museum, where architect Mario Cucinella received the prize in the presence of ADI President Luciano Galimberti.
The ADI Compasso d'Oro, born from an idea of Gio Ponti in Milan in 1954, represents the highest award in the field of Italian design and is among the most famous prizes internationally.
