The architect and designer Michele De Lucchi is the protagonist of the sixth edition of Nature - a series of monographic exhibitions inviting the host to design a site-specific installation representative of their research, for the MAXXI museum. On this occasion, De Lucchi chose to design a hybrid sculptural element part object, part building.
De Lucchi chose a sculptural element that occupies an intermediate dimension between object and building, an environmental installation, charged with significance and symbolism both through conceptual imagery and through construction praxis.
The structure, clad in plastic elements featuring shapes inspired by wooden roofs used in residential buildings, is a space that can be walked through. The slits between the shingles generate a game of light and shadow, highlighted by iGuzzini’s Underscore InOut which enhances visitors’ experience of the space.
The installation project will be acquired by the MAXXI Architecture Collections.
