Perelada winery wins the 40th IALD Lighting Design Awards

The IALD jury awarded the IALD Awards of Excellence to the new Perelada winery (Girona, Spain) illuminated by Artec Studio with iGuzzini luminaires.
The project was selected along with 27 other projects (among 300 proposals) as an example of excellence in lighting design and for its contribution to the professional design community.

Artec Studio’s creative concept of the new Perelada Group winery is based on natural and artificial light managed in two ways: first, one that showcases the architecture of the building, secondly, one that reveals its soul and drags into the narration of wine.

For the lighting project Artec Studio worked closely with RCR Arquitectes, Pritzker Prize in 2017. One of the main challenges was precisely the desire to use natural light, since the complex is underground. The new cellar has been designed in harmony with the environment and the lighting meets the same objective.

The IALD Award is universally considered one of the largest awards in the lighting design industry and is the longest running program of awards for excellence and technical innovation in the industry. Since its inception in 1983, the IALD International Lighting Design Awards has honored lighting design that reaches new heights, moves beyond the ordinary, and represents excellence in aesthetic and technical design achievement.
