How has the climate changed? On the occasion of #ShowYourStripes day and as a lighting company focused on environmental responsibility for over 40 years, we share our concern about how the climate is changing and the need for urgent action.
Created by climate scientist Professor Ed Hawkins at the University of Reading, “Warming stripes” shows how temperatures have increased around the world with colours transitioning from cool blues to warm reds, since the industrial revolution. Each stripe represents one year and 2023 was the warmest year on record globally. Extreme weather events continue to be seen more frequently around the world. Never has the need to address climate change been more urgent. Today, as part of the Fagerhult Group, our commitment to the race towards Zero Emissions objectives and supporting the UN 2030 Agenda has been endorsed by the Science Based Target Initiative, demonstrating how responsibly, concretely and measurably this crucial issue is being addressed: to reduce direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions, in scope 1 and 2, by 70% and in scope 3 by 30% by 2030, compared to the base year 2021. We are committed to becoming a zero-emissions organisation by 2045.
