The Blade wins again, this time, at LuxLive

After winning at the LDAwards, LaserBlade XS - aka The Blade – won the Interior Luminaire of the Year Award during the LuxLive gala event, which marked the closure of one of the most important lighting trade shows in Europe, held at the Exhibition Centre in London between 15^th and 16^th November.

The Blade was named winner of the Interior Luminaire of the year category being recognised as “the year’s most ground-breaking interior light fitting”. Laser Blade XS is iGuzzini’s icon of miniaturisation, having been created to perfectly integrate into architecture as no other downlight.

Surgical precision in terms of light diffusion, super-compact dimensions compared to the other luminaires in its product family, extreme visual comfort achieved through the recessed position of the LEDs, invisible light source, availability in either linear or square profiles – these are the main features of the Laser Blade XS. The minimal design, obtained through the miniaturisation of electronic and optical components, makes the Laser Blade XS an extremely compact solution (only 28 mm wide). As an invisible light source, the Laser Blade XS has no visual impact, being the perfect application for retail and hospitality & living. It is available in two variants: High Contrast with different beam angles (24°, 36°, 55°) and wall washer. The Blade is also equipped with Tunable White, an innovative technology that allows to adjust the colour temperature to improve psychological wellbeing through dynamic lighting. This covers a rich spectrum, which is very similar to daylight. Furthermore, the special configuration of the optical system creates a perfectly homogeneous circular distribution, completely shadow-free. Laser Blade XS is part of the larger Laser Blade family which also includes the following products: Laser Blade XL, Laser Blade L, Laser Blade and Laser BladeInOut. The product family has received several awards over the years such as IF Design Award, Red Dot, World Interior News Award and Futurshop at Exporetail. LuxAwards 2017 adds to the awards list received by the Laser Blade XS. This includes Adi Design Index 2017, Lighting Design Awards 2017 (Interior Luminaire of the Year), and Light Middle East Awards 2017 (Innovative Product of the Year and Indoor Product of the Year).  

On the same day of the Awards ceremony, Massimiliano Guzzini, Vice-President and Business Innovation & Networking Director of iGuzzini, participated to Lux Live as part of the SIL Investor Forum, being on the ‘Daring to be different – How can we differentiate in a crowded market?’ panel discussion, and explaining how iGuzzini deals with the digital disruption through constant product differentiation and process innovation.
