The Mole Vanvitelliana of Ancona welcomes the travelling photographic exhibition
Sebastião Salgado. Genesis. Curated by Lélia Wanick Salgado, based on a project by Amazonas Images and Contrasto, the exhibition is promoted by the Municipality of Ancona and organized by Civita Exhibitions and will be open to the public from 29 September 2018 unti 6 January 2019, at the Sala Vanvitelli.
The exhibition, the latest project by one of the best humanist photo-reporters of our time, is a passionate attempt at underlining the need to safeguard our planet, an invitation to change our lifestyle and to adopt new behaviours, more respectful of nature, aiming to achieve a new level of harmony and to prevent modern development from becoming synonymous with destruction. Carrying on its successful international tour,
Genesis is a 10-year project launched in 2003, which allowed the Brazilian photographer to collect 245 exceptional shots categorised into five sections mirroring the regions where they were taken:
The South Planet, the Sanctuaries of Nature, Africa, the Great North, the Amazon and the Pantanàl.
The black and white photographic itinerary is illuminated using 150 dimmable ø86 mm
Palco projectors able to give aesthetic uniformity and high set-up flexibility.
