Under the leadership of the Brunsborg family, who has invested in the development of this place over generations since 1986, HimmerLand has evolved from a charming golf hotel in Jutland to a year-round resort that welcomes guests from all over the world.
In other words, the family's deep love for their land has transformed HimmerLand: today the resort offers everything from sports activities to gastronomic experiences for different types of guests: families, friends, couples and business travelers.

Krogh Arkitektur designed a new reception area and a car park, while ARKPlan took care of the landscape design. Both studios chose organic forms to create a sense of continuity between the entrance to the square and the main entrance, reception, hotel and restaurant. These forms reconnect to the beautiful landscape of the area and the organic elements of the golf courses.

While Krogh Arkitektur did the architectural lighting of the carpark, ARKplan designed the lighting of all other outdoor spaces, aiming to create a sense of comfort and relaxation; artificial lighting during the evening hours creates dynamic and multi-faceted expressions.

The façade of the car park consists of perforated aluminium sheets that filter natural light during the day, becoming luminous sculptures in the afternoon and evening light. Linealuce 47 luminaires are applied at the top of the tower housing the stairs and lifts to the car park and at the base of the walls emphasizing the permeability to light. Throughout the plaza and along the walkway leading to the reception area and restaurant, pole-mounted compositions of Palco InOut Framer provide both general illumination and evocative ground effects that recall the play of light and shadow among the tree branches.

The iWay super comfort bollards are distributed along the walkways, in some cases supplemented by wall-mounted Walky, while bushes created by Typha form small islands of light here and there.

Existing trees in the area have been preserved as much as possible, which is why they are placed in delimited areas. In order to accentuate their presence and importance, ARKplan choose to light them with Light Up recessed luminaires, while new trees are illuminated with colored light produced by Agora spotlights. The colored light, by reflection, also spreads onto the balustrade that delimits the upper, open-air car park.

Other elements such as small sculptures, shrubs or recently planted young trees are illuminated from below by MiniWoody spotlights mounted on spikes with the overall effect of soft, atmospheric and unobtrusive lighting.
