Blade R at Casa 500

Italian culture and history blend together with the evolution of the Fiat 500 in a new exhibition space in Turin

Casa 500 has recently opened on the fourth floor of the Pinacoteca Agnelli museum complex in Turin. This immersive space, measuring over 700 sqm, recounts the culture and history of Italy through the evolution of the iconic Fiat 500.

The exhibition design based on “sustainable creativity” - created by the Lab71 team of architects, supervised by Massimiliano Gotti Porcinari - is divided into eight theme areas, including Made of Italy, where twelve industrial products are displayed that, like the 500, have been successful thanks to their Italian design that skillfully combines beauty with practicality. Here, in the Ethical section, dedicated to the decade we are living in, the exhibits include Blade R - the iGuzzini recessed luminaire that develops the concept of architectural integration by housing advanced tools that activate safety, entertainment, comfort, sustainability and lighting services using smart technology.

In addition to lighting the Casa 500 exhibition spaces with Perroquet projectors, iGuzzini has also illuminated La Pista 500. Platea Pro, Lander and iPro luminaires have been used to light this splendid example of green architecture. Located on the iconic Lingotto track and open to everyone, La Pista 500 is the new and largest roof garden in Europe, designed by the architect Benedetto Camerana, with the specialist collaboration of the botanist Cristiana Ruspa from the Giardino Segreto studio.

Casa 500 and La Pista 500 are just the latest two projects to feature iGuzzini luminaires in the Lingotto district. In fact, Lingotto is also the name of the luminaire designed by Renzo Piano in the 1990s for the former Turin factory that overlooks via Nizza. A street that is lit by the Nuvola pole-mounted luminaire system (designed by Renzo Piano & Meccano), which also flanks the recent Green Pea - the first Green Retail Park in the world that iGuzzini is a sponsor of.
