An SLL & CIBSE HCSW lighting event hosted by iGuzzini UK

An enlightening evening*, featuring industry and academic professionals, determined to demonstrate why light is more than vision. Learn how visual and non-visual effects of light impact on health and well-being as well as on colour perception and conservation of art – at the iGuzzini UK showroom, on 21st February. A trio of guest speakers will be looking at the well-being aspects of lighting from a design, academic and client’s brief perspective.

Dr Caroline Paradise, architect and Head of Design Research at Atkins, will be holding a talk on “Human-centred design, putting user wellbeing at the heart of design”.

Dr Debra Skene, Professor of Neuroendocrinology at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Surrey, will be sharing her expertise on “Human non-visual responses to light: current knowledge and future challenges”.

Giorgio Pierini, Design Liaison Manager at iGuzzini, will tackle the importance of meeting the client’s brief in terms lighting aspects such as colour accuracy, conservation, energy-efficiency, optics and lighting control technology, drawing on world heritage projects like: Leonardo Da Vinci’s The Last Supper (Milan); Giotto’s Scrovegni Chapel (Padua); Royal Academy of Arts (London).
