Light Shed is currently evolving with a new version that is even lighter and more sustainable. It is the result of innovative research into materials and processes that can drastically reduce environmental impact.

Made from linen
Flax is the plant linen is made from. As it is a plant, throughout its lifetime it absorbs C02. To grow, flax needs only rainwater, and no artificial irrigation. Flax is also very sturdy and therefore needs no pesticides or fertilizers, so it preserves soil and groundwater too. Flax is as light as a feather.
A product made from flax, therefore, contributes greatly to the reduction of carbon footprint.

Thanks to our collaboration with the ChIP (Chemistry Interdisciplinary Project) at the University of Camerino (MC, Italy) and MARLIC (the Marches Applied Research Laboratory for Innovative Composites) we have developed a bio-based material from a natural polymer matrix (NFPP) fibre that has real strength, durability and stability.

Biophilic design expresses our love for Nature

Biophilic design makes us happier and healthier by reinforcing our connection with the natural world. Facilitating the intake of natural light, which changes throughout the day and seasons, is a fundamental principle of biophilic design.

Smart Light
A sensor built into the Light Shed Linen luminaire activates artificial light only when natural light needs replacing. And the light it uses is equally good, variable, comfortable, pleasant and sustainable with an efficiency level of
up to
136 lm/W.

Smart lighting lowers consumption
Useful lighting that is only activated when needed. Automatic functions, activated by integrated wireless or wired sensors like Organic Response, BLE or DALI-2 that can also easily be managed by voice command, smartphones or smart buttons, help to lower energy consumption with overall savings of up to 90 percent.

Visual wellbeing

Lighting with a variable colour temperature, from 2700K to 6500K, that follows the dynamism of nature.

Pleasant, embracing, comfortable light. The rich distribution of Light Shed Linen light emission increases the perception of space by balancing luminance on different planes and helping achieve optimum horizontal and vertical semi-cylindrical lighting levels. UGR<19.

Beyond lightLight Shed Linen is designed to integrate a loudspeaker, camera or environment sensor, to make spaces safer and more pleasant in every respect.
Smart ServicesThanks to beacons integrated in smart devices, digital information, like push notifications, can be sent, indoor navigation can be enabled and space management data collected directly on your smartphone, thanks to Organic Response sensors.

A step forward
- 40,4 % carbon footprint
Light Shed Linen uses a body made of NFPP material, which is more natural and lighter, while the other components remain unchanged. This change significantly reduces the carbon footprint. Despite an 18.8% decrease in weight, performance improves by 10% in lumens per watt per kilogram (lm/WKg). In addition, the efficiency of the system and the smart light optimize use, which constitutes 90% of the total environmental impact.
