RE-FUTURE // πŸ“ iGuzzini, Via Brera 5

The installation in the courtyard of the Light Gate offers visitors an experience combining past echoes that conserve the immortal beauty of Italian design and new contemporary icons. "LIFE" // πŸ“ UniversitΓ  Statale Milan – Interni | Re-generation
Alessandro Scandurra for iGuzzini
Milan University, which everyone knows as “La Statale”, is one of the institutions at the Milano Design Week. The opening press conference organised by the magazine Interni in the Aula Magna (Main Hall), officially starts the week and the artworks exhibited in the courtyard are a must for all Fuorisalone visitors.
iGuzzini is on stage with an artistic installation curated by the Scandurra Studio, at the entrance to the Aula Magna. The artwork, entitled LIFE, is in line with the guiding theme of Design Re-generation launched by Interni. In coordination with the Brera Light Gate exhibition, LIFE represents an illuminated ‘60s/’70s style theatre entrance sign that reads “the show of regenerating life” and is a metaphor for the role of Design. The installation consists of 650 Dali system dimmable LED lamps and 160 metres of linear neon LED low voltage tubes, that are also Dali dimmable. Together these total an average energy consumption of just 2.5 Kw/h a day. There is also a rainwater effect that uses about 0.3 litres of water every 24 hours. The sign and rainwater system are connected to an electrical cabinet with a KNX system to show that sustainability and technology mutually support each other.
