Cube Berlin

The concept of external lighting for Cube Berlin was to help revitalise Washingtonplatz at pedestrian level, while leaving the reflective facade unchanged so that the kaleidoscopic effect could also be seen at night. Together with iGuzzini, we did extensive experiments on ground lighting to achieve the precise effect and illumination desired. Overall, we are very pleased with the effect around the building and the beautiful play of shadows created by the interaction of passing people and individual cones of light. It was a long road, but it was a lot of fun for us and - we believe - also for the iGuzzini teams in Copenhagen and Berlin.” (3XN- Torben Østergaard)
