iGuzzini and Creative Academy at Fuorisalone 2019

An immersive tour, from the UN-REVEALED exhibition to The Light Experience

iGuzzini and Creative Academy,Richemont’s Corporate School of Design and Applied Arts, are among the highlights of Milano Design Week 2019, from 9th to 14th April. At The Light Gate (via Brera, 5) - the new iGuzzini headquarters designed by Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia - the company from Recanati and the school present the exclusive exhibition, UN-REVEALED| Shaping secrets. The exhibition was made possible by the partnership with the Cologni Foundation for the Métiers d’Art and presents design objects created by 20 Creative Academy students from 12 countries worldwide. During the week, the secrets on the stage at The Light Gate transform into language at the Lighthinking Talks (free admission) given by two outstanding speakers: Alessandro Mari, Creative Director of Holden Studios, and Alberto Cavalli, General Director of the Cologni Foundation.

For iGuzzini, this is the perfect opportunity to let the public at the Fuorisalone into The Light Gate, the new meeting place where you can discover and explore the theme of light and its infinite variations. Designed as a fluid and multi-functional space, The Light Gate offers visitors a new way of experiencing light:
The Light Experience, a place where you can get hands-on experience of iGuzzini light, is divided into two distinct moments. At first, visitors are able to appreciate the lighting effects as told by a narrator and animated with sounds, music and images through an immersive experience of ‘pure’ light. The light then becomes ‘applied’, and interacts with the objects and matter to reveal the secrets.

We are pleased to take part in Milano Design Week, with its new space dedicated to the culture of light, which reveals its identity though an important partnership like that with Creative Academy. 60 years after iGuzzini was founded, The Light Gate is intended to strengthen our ties with the city of Milan, which began in 1969 with the creation of Centro Forme, directed by Luigi Massoni, which started the fruitful cooperation between the international designer and the company from the Le Marche”, says Adolfo Guzzini, President Emeritus of iGuzzini illuminazione.
