iGuzzini's Nitia and Ala lamps on display at the exhibition “The rhythm of design. Rodolfo Bonetto"

Thirty of the most significant objects created by designer Rodolfo Bonetto will be on display from 8 March to 10 April at the ADI Design Museum in Milan in “The rhythm of design. Rodolfo Bonetto" exhibition, organised by ADI. Included in the exhibition are the Nitia and Ala table lamps, icons of iGuzzini design in the 1970s. Nitia, together with other pieces selected from the historical iGuzzini archive, have been rediscovered and given a new life in the Italian Echoes collection, which will be presented at the Milan Design Week 2023.

The ADI exhibition will celebrate the meeting of two languages, design and music; in fact, a selection of percussion instruments important to Bonetto - who in his own words is a jazz musician by passion "lent to design", and Compasso d'Oro alla Carriera in 1991 - will also be displayed. Walter De Silva, a personal friend and colleague of Bonetto's, curates the exhibition together with Mario Antonioli. While the catalogue is edited by Angelo Lorenzo Crespi.

"Rodolfo Bonetto, as well as designing objects, was twice president of ADI," recalls association president Luciano Galimberti, "and he made an essential contribution to defining the identity of Italian design, combining an unquestionable technical response with an extraordinary narrative ability, because Italian design is not limited to the mere definition of the forms of a product, but builds relationships with the market, speaks the language of users."
