Palco Low Voltage Framer wins the German Design Award

German Design Awards 2018

First-class miniaturisation and performance

Palco Framer Low Voltage has won the German Design Award, the internationally-recognised design prize. The award has been managed by the German Design Council since 2012, honouring unique and ground-breaking international design trends. Outstanding lighting product featuring sophisticated technology, Palco Low Voltage Framer has been described by the jury as “an extremely compact, zoomable track spotlight featuring a charmingly clean design, while providing light beam precision and illumination of an outstanding quality”.

Miniaturisation of dimensions, not performances: through Palco Low Voltage (LV) Framer, iGuzzini extends its miniaturised product range with diameters of 19mm or 37mm (for low voltage track) and 90mm or 115mm (for mains voltage track) maintaining the high performance and the precision of the luminous flux. The patented lens ensures high luminance and efficiency - achieved through the use of CoB LEDs combined with a patented collimation element comprising a lens-based tele-centric reflector that emits a very precise beam, free of chromatic aberration. Characteristics that make Palco LV Framer ideal for museums and retail environments The Shape&Twist feature, which allows manual and gradual adjustments of the light beam in round or square shapes, through metal gobos and external fins. Palco Framer LV is available in a wide range of powers, with a luminous flux ranging from 160 to 3400 lumens.

Palco LV was shortlisted in the ADI Design Index 2017 and won the ADI “Premio Per l’Innovazione” (Innovation Prize) for “the miniaturised design resulting from combined research on the technological innovation of last-generation LEDs and the study of materials, optics, and applications, in order to get the most out of each millimetre, eliminating anything superfluous, while maintaining high performance.”
