Conference of light, architecture and design
Lighthinking Events are an opportunity to discuss the culture of light and design with leading figures from the international scene. The guest of the forthcoming event - to be held in the iGuzzini Auditorium on 18th February at 5 pm - will be Jean-Michel Wilmotte. For over 40 years, this French architect, urban planner and designer has travelled the world, putting people and their cultures and histories at the centre of his creations.
The Wilmotte & Associés architectural studio has bases in France, Great Britain, Italy and South Korea, and together with Wilmotte & Industrie, it has a total of 270 employees, including architects, urban planners, designers, museographers and interior designers from over 25 different nationalities. In all its projects, the Wilmotte & Associés studio adopts an approach that is both innovative and responsible. It always places a particular focus on greenery, materials, finishes and light and has complete respect for location and history.
The projects it has completed include the Russian Orthodox Spiritual and Cultural Centre, Station F - the biggest startup campus in the world - and the Hotel Lutetia in Paris, the Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice, the Daejeon Cultural Centre in South Korea, the Congress Centre in Metz, the London headquarters of Google, the Ferrari Sporting Management Centre in Maranello, and an ecological park in Baku as part of the 2015 European Games. Currently, Wilmotte & Associés is working, with others, on the Campus of Sciences Po and the Station of Austerlitz in Paris, the GFT Research Centre into rare diseases in Marseilles, an office tower and Arts Centre in Dakar, and the ONU Head Offices for West Africa in Diamniadio, Senegal.
