Light Shed creates well-being for spaces: it furnishes, illuminates, diffuses sound but absorbs noise, is sustainable and intelligent. It comes in three forms and is modular. Installation options are recessed, surface and pendant, therefore giving maximum flexibility. The pendant version was designed to cater for new trends in architectural style which do away with false ceilings: Light Shed interrupts or enhances the view of the structure above, combining features which appeal both to architects and to end users. Light Shed modules are multi-purpose, providing light, sound absorption, connectivity or just decoration and they are modular.

Miniaturisation has finally reached urban areas. Lighting systems are, to all intents and purposes, pieces of street furniture and contribute to the look and atmosphere of a town, overlapping a structure made up of various geometries, materials and colours. Multi Agorà, the set of Agorà pole-mounted floodlights, is increasingly chic and minimal, thanks to the innovative support using a flange with simple design. Specifically, the conical-cylindrical pole has a double access cover for simultaneously accommodating three elements, such as two power supplies (for the floodlights which have a remote power supply, e.g.: Agorà slim) and a BLE-DALI interface for Bluetooth connection to control the light with the Smart Light Control App or remotely via a Wi-Fi bridge. In contrast, the flange offers an almost invisible anchoring system for the floodlight on the pole and allows it to be rotated 360°. Multi-iPro and Multi Woody can also be installed on the new flange and pole systems.

Agorà’s name hints at its dual purpose. An architectural floodlight devised for use in squares and all urban locations. The simple yet well thought-out design is by architect J.M. Wilmotte. It fits perfectly with the urban architecture and setting, almost becoming part of it, due to its extreme slimness. The new Agorà slim version has a 254 mm diameter, provides flux of up to 5000 lumen with a reduced field angle to guarantee exceptional visual comfort, completing the range of applications covered, even working for parks, gardens and hospitality & living. The remote power supply takes the drama out of maintenance and, with pole-mounting, can be fitted in the double access cover of the new conical-cylindrical pole.

Twilight Copenhagen extends its application, offering not just pole-top but also span-wire installation, to cover all urban lighting needs. A single design with many types of light distribution, thanks to innovative Opti Smart Lenses: up to six optics available for lighting urban spaces such as parks, squares, pedestrian and residential areas, roads even with heavy levels of vehicle traffic, in town and outside town; plus, we have developed a truly innovative optic which projects a beam of light onto the ground with square distribution, ideal for lighting parking areas, increasing visual comfort. The optical system also provides exceptional performance, with system values of up to 160 lm/W. Intelligent control gear includes On-Off operation, Midnight programming and DALI controls for custom light profiles to optimise energy savings. Finally, special control gear allows the use of wireless systems with single and double Zhaga connectors and makes system control flexible and increasingly sustainable.

Twilight Kyoto and Twilight Cortina come in two different forms, blending seamlessly with their surroundings, meeting the requirements of every urban environment. The circularity of the design brings to mind the symbol of the ring representing trade and union between two cities, Kyoto and Cortina, linked by 5 rings, that is to say, the Olympic rings. The design, finishes and installation options turn this luminaire into a true piece of street furniture. Twilight, in all of its versions, also exemplifies sustainability, thanks to extremely high efficacy, multiple types of light distribution with various smart control possibilities, for an urban light that is increasingly tailored to precise, aesthetic and functional needs. Aesthetic, functional and sustainable innovation are in Twilight’s DNA, leading to the development and expansion of urban lighting solutions which are ever more efficient and intelligent.

Ultra slim, clean lines but above all comfortable light emission, designed by architect Renzo Piano, RPBW. Created to be future-proof, UFO is brought up to date by staying the same, changing on the inside but not the outside. In actual fact, the optical system was replaced by integrating innovative Opti Smart Lenses for multiplying the types of light distribution and reaching excellent levels of output. Up to nine optics, for roads and cycle paths, parking areas or pedestrian crossings, with luminous efficacy values higher than 150 lm/W. The light is modular, adapting to individual needs, without wasting energy, therefore avoiding stray light. The new silk-screen printing surrounding the optical system makes UFO particularly elegant and suitable for urban areas and city centres with pedestrians and vehicle traffic.

We have added a new, recessed version of Linealuce 47, with integrated power supply, for optimum even lighting of walls with flood distribution and three wall grazing distributions which, thanks to the combination of microprismatic internal accessories, multiply the types of light distribution to cover all design needs. The asymmetric outer casing means that the product can be placed just 25 mm from the edge, optimising wall grazing and enhancing surface textures. Integrated internal anti-glare accessories promote a high level of visual comfort. Sleek design, with flush glass end cap. Tunable White, RGB and RGBW versions, with DMX and Dali dynamic control. Ceiling, wall and floor mounting, even in a continuous line of up to 10 m without gaps. An innovative plug and play system simplifies installation, protecting the system against water ingress and ensuring lasting performance.

The new Underscore InOut Pixel version changes the look of façades and urban features, with flowing, continuous colour moving effects. Underscore InOut Pixel allows different addressing of minimum lengths of 83.3 mm, the equivalent of 48 different addresses per metre. The resolution is 12 pixels/m. SPI technology allows high speed colour transition and absolutely simple wiring for designing dynamic lighting effects and video reproduction, controllable using Art-Net systems. Underscore InOut Pixel was patented to ensure correct operation even at extreme temperatures. The extremely high performance polymeric material, resulting from research and laboratory tests, is the most resistant to thermal stresses and external agents, such as UV, allowing the LED to perform constantly over time both in terms of efficacy and colour temperature. The connectors have a high ingress protection rating of IP68 with a connector locking system to prevent accidental disconnections. Underscore InOut Pixel is a masterpiece of miniaturisation and integration, in terms of form and technology.

The heart of sustainability is durability. All of our products have always been designed and made to last and to remain high performance. But technology moves on quickly and performance can always be improved upon, favouring energy savings and, therefore, a more sustainable world. In response to this we created a modular kit for a retrofit on compact fluorescent or metal halide iWay bollards, allowing a return on investment in just a few years thanks to high optical efficiency. The work can be done in two ways: first, changing only the optical assembly, inserting the LED optical module with Dali driver, keeping the same pole, mechanical and electrical fastening system and plinth; second, in contrast replacing the whole body of the product but keeping the rods and plinth and if necessary using the iWay supercomfort optical assembly. In both cases, depending on requirements, the goal is to keep what is needed for improved energy performance. A first step towards enhancing durability.

The Citygrid system provides all components for controlling light in urban environments, from a single luminaire to the whole system, on site and remotely. Programming is via an intuitive app and the system can be configured at multiple levels: Stand-Alone is ideal in residential areas: by including a Zhaga motion sensor in the lower part of the street luminaire (e.g.: Twilight/Street) the flux can be adjusted to the level defined based on the presence of people. An interconnected control system may also be used, ideal in residential/urban areas, the upper part of the street luminaire fitted with a Zhaga controller to put it in communication with multiple luminaires, transmitting the information to the subsequent poles. That controller could even be fitted directly on the pole. Plus, by fitting the pole or cabinet with a gateway all data from the connected system can be transferred to the Cloud, processing statistics and controlling the system remotely, sending an alert if there are any malfunctions. In short, the lighting system can also be connected to the City Management System, via API (Application Protocol Interface), which allows the management of all related systems.

Light control
We have extended the use of Bluetooth control technology, integrating new functionalities in the Quick BLE with Bluetooth WiSilica technology and introducing Bluetooth Casambi technology. The new version of the Smart Light Control 2 app for the Quick BLE system, available in 7 languages, has new functionalities such as activation of a sequencer for automatically, dynamically reproducing different light scenes, a visibly improved menu so that programming and control are even easier and more intuitive, optimisation of commissioning, to make it possible even for multiple devices with a single operation, and more. WiSilica Bluetooth technology is compatible with all DALI products supplied by iGuzzini and is set up for interoperability. Casambi Bluetooth technology was extended in the Palco Ø122mm spotlight, so that the system can be controlled using the dedicated app.

More than light
Both Bluetooth versions include beacons useful for enabling Smart services, with which to send text, audio or video information (push notifications) on a smartphone, or to activate the indoor navigation-wayfinding function. The WiSilica beacon can be activated and programmed directly from the Smart Light Control 2 app and can be configured with the Eddystone, iBeacon or Altbeacon protocol, whilst Casambi, again using the related app, can be configured only with the iBeacon protocol.

The Jiminy app can be used to improve visitors’ customer experience by sending their smartphones push notifications with text, audio and video content. The content is sent from the beacons integrated in the BLE-DALI interface or directly in the Bluetooth luminaires, using the Eddystone and iBeacon protocols. The app is available in the iOS/Android stores and is extremely simple and intuitive. iGuzzini can be contacted to customise it, making it usable by every public and/or private business, for example museums, retail stores or public institutions.
