Rome Metro Line C – San Giovanni Station

Infrastructure

Light, whether natural or artificial, is an essential tool for creating the identifying character of a space. For the transit areas of the S. Giovanni station, we envisioned a sort of virtual sky, a fictitious plane created by a series of light bars. Its luminosity has cancelled out the presence of the overhead plant systems, directing the attention of users to the vertical walls, which are tasked with narrating the rich stratigraphic nature of the space that descends to a depth of 27 metres.
