Floor version of the Microcestello free-standing system designed for eight lamps. The metal and plastic material base houses the electronic transformers as well as two switches that make it possible to turn on the four-lamps clusters separately. The base also contains a special safety switch that interrupts the electric contact in the event of overturn and turns the lamps off. The extruded aluminium rod supports the lamp compartment, which is made up of eight die-cast aluminium optical assemblies, each provided with articulated joints for double adjustment by +/- 35° with respect to the horizontal and vertical axes. In order to have a more versatile angling system, an articulated joint is placed between the rod and the lamp compartment and permits further tilting up to 35° max. Lamps included (38°)- no tools are needed to replace them. Design by Gae Aulenti, Piero Castiglioni.
